A message from the Chairperson

In September 2007, major rate paying organisations in Blackburn's Greenbank, Furthergate and Whitebirk business parks voted in favour of creating a Business Improvement District (BID) and paying an annual contribution to help fund additional services for the area. These services would decrease crime and improve the local environment for the benifit of the business, employees and vistors alike. This year is the final year of our five year mandate as a Business Improvement District and we now have an obligation to renew this by means of a renewal ballott. This is in all our interests - in a time of severe public sector cutbacks businesses taht are part of a BID will see their influence continue to grow. The achievements detailed here demonstrate what a success our BID has been so far. Please do take the time to give us your views on its future and, with your help and support, we can make it even more of a success.
